Change energy-saving lamps in China for one year and save four Three Gorges Projects
Release Time:2021-07-21      54 Reading volume

With the advent of the low-carbon era, the lighting projects of "large energy consuming households" especially need energy conservation and emission reduction.

"Although the energy-saving lamp is small, it is of great significance to alleviate the global energy crisis." Wu Changjiang, chairman of Rex lighting, a large energy-saving lamp manufacturer in China, said in an interview a few days ago that the light emitted by a 15W energy-saving lamp is the same as that of a 100W ordinary incandescent lamp, and the LED lamp only needs 1W ~ 2W to achieve the same effect.

Xie Zhenhua, deputy director of the national development and Reform Commission, said that this year the government plans to promote at least 150 million energy-saving lamps and strive to replace all incandescent lamps in the country with energy-saving lamps within a few years. At present, the consumption of incandescent lamps in China is as high as 1.4 billion, which has been fully converted into energy-saving lamps, allowing lighting enterprises to see the opportunity.

"Low carbon economy" of power saving lighting

Lighting engineering has always been a "big energy consumer". According to statistics, the lighting of public commercial buildings in China accounts for about 60% of the total lighting energy consumption every year, and the road lighting accounts for about 15%. If these lighting devices adopt low-energy products, they will not only save energy, but also bring more direct economic benefits.

"China's lighting power consumption accounts for about 12% of the total power consumption of the whole society. If all the existing household ordinary incandescent lamps are replaced with energy-saving lamps, the country can save more than 300 billion kwh a year, and its power-saving effect is close to the power generation of the four Three Gorges projects." Li guangzan, an analyst at Founder Securities, made such analysis.

It is also estimated that if LED is used to replace the colored lights on the Christmas tree, the United States will save at least 2 billion kwh of electricity in December every year, which is equivalent to the power consumption of 2 million families for a whole year. Every 100 million kwh of electricity saved means saving 40400 tons of standard coal, reducing the emission of 106400 tons of carbon dioxide and 0900 tons of sulfur dioxide.

Promoting green lighting brings great business opportunities

Xie Zhenhua, deputy director of the national development and Reform Commission, and Zhang Lijun, Vice Minister of environmental protection, said that at present, the consumption of incandescent lamps in China is about 1.4 billion, and 210 million energy-saving lamps were promoted through financial subsidies in 2008 and 2009. This year, we are going to promote at least 150 million more. "People buy energy-saving lamps with 50% government subsidies. We will strive to replace all incandescent lamps with energy-saving lamps within a few years.

There are considerable business opportunities. More and more enterprises, such as Philips, Rex lighting and Foshan Lighting, are involved in the R & D and production of energy-saving lighting.

"On the market, there are about 15 billion groups of traditional incandescent lamps and 3.5 billion groups of energy-saving lamps. 80% of the world's energy-saving lamps are exported from China, and 60% of them are produced in Guangdong." Yin Kang, vice president of Rex lighting, said that as a large local lighting brand supplier in China, more than 60% of its products are energy-saving products.

Lin Liangqi, global vice president of Philips Lighting and President of Greater China, pointed out that after more than 100 years of development, the lighting industry has gradually moved from functional lighting to decorative lighting. At present, it is developing in the direction of energy-saving lighting. In addition to ordinary energy-saving lamps, there are led solid-state lighting technologies.

Compared with traditional lighting equipment, led solid-state lighting has the advantages of energy saving, high luminous rate, strong stability and a service life of up to 15 years. As the next generation of lighting technology, LED has many advantages, but Yin Kang believes that at present, the comprehensive commercial application of LED is not mature, "mainly due to the cost, and most users are still very sensitive to the price. For example, now, even if the subsidy for energy-saving lamps is 50%, consumers only need five or six yuan to buy them, but many people are still willing to spend two yuan to buy incandescent lamps, not to mention tens of hundreds of yuan of LED lamps. "

But the government has made up its mind to promote LED. At present, the Guangzhou municipal government has allocated 20 million funds to support the promotion and utilization of LED lighting industry. It is reported that before the 2010 Asian Games, Guangzhou will complete the LED energy-saving transformation of 40000 existing street lamps and install a new batch of LED street lamps, making the city's LED street lamps more than 50000.
